Hellvelyn Conditions

Today I went back up Helvellyn, the snow line starts from about the tarn, though it is a bit patchy. Conditions on Striding Edge are good with a good dusting of snow. The snow is wet but with the freezing conditions over the next couple of days this will freeze, so crampons will be needed and i would also recommend at least a walking axe. Climbs on the face should be ready by Tuesday also in the surrounding areas, there is plenty of water around so with a couple of days freezing some climbs higher up will be possible.

I will be back out on Helvellyn on Tuesday and probably just doing a quick solo of Gully1 I will report here again later on Tuesday
