Went up Helvellyn today, although i did not take my climbing gear,mmm which i dam well should have, as conditions were favorable for climbing, and all i could do was watch as other teams headed of for V Grove, Viking Buttress, Gully one and two, ect.

Still we headed up to swirel edge where the ground was rock solid with plenty of hoar on the rocks. The summit was pretty thick with ice. Our decent was via striding edge, which had plenty of soft snow on it with turf frozen in places, and well hoar rock.

An over night freeze would see things come into great condition very quickly.
